Hello, I am the Eco Mom.
Originally I hail from Europe, where I have lived in several countries.
Since 2001, I live here in Richmond, VA in one of those exurbs around the Swift Creek Reservoir, let's call it Woodmill.
This blog chronicles - admittedly fairly irregularly - my struggles to live a responsible, sustainable life against all odds and obstacles, mainly my not-so-willing-to-live-sustainably-husband, his right wing, conspiracy theories spouting family (Glenn Beck anyone?) and my suburban neighbors, who love their cars, their conveniences, their Zoloft and drilling for oil in Alaska.
Sometimes I am disheartened, but I plow on. I hope to eventually find more people like me, out here, trying to do their thing in the middle of suburban nightmare.
